DO DISTINCTION AWARD

The nomination of a member that demonstrates the DO Distinction in their daily practice through OMT and/or an emphasis on whole patient care.

A nominee for the Physician of the Year Award must have given selflessly of him or herself to patients, community, the profession and posterity over the past year.  Their contribution to society and/or the profession has been exemplary.  They must be a member in good standing.

A nominee for the Life Service Award must have spent the greater part of their lives delivering health care to Iowa’s citizens, utilizing osteopathic practices and principles.  They shall have represented and modeled the highest ideals of the profession to their community.   Their lives would be devoted to service to their profession, this Association, and their community.  The nominee must have reached the age of 60 years or completed 20 years of practice.  Must be a member in good standing.

The purpose of this award is to recognize an individual or organization outside the osteopathic profession that has made a significant contribution to the osteopathic profession in Iowa.  The award recipient shall be nominated by an IOMA member in good standing.
